| How do I pay for my tours? |

You pay for your tours by purchasing a membership. You can pay online using your credit card and our secure checkout pages. We accept these credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.

Your card is charged only when you make a purchase. There are no monthly or recurring charges. |

| Do you bill my credit card automatically? |
|
| No. We do not keep your credit card on record and we only charge your card when you make a purchase. |

| Yes! The more slides you purchase at one time, the more you save. The cost per slide goes down when you buy in quantity. The cost per slide is the cost for one year. If you purchase additional slides in the middle of your membership term, the price you pay is pro-rated (reduced) based on how many days are left in your membership. See Membership Options for more information. |

| Can I upgrade from a Free Membership to a Paid Membership? |
|
| Yes. You can upgrade to a Paid Membership at any time. Your first purchase must be for at least $39 which includes 25 slides. Once you have upgraded to a Paid Membership, you can buy additional slides at any time. Any tours and slides that you created with your Free Membership are still accessible after you upgrade. |

| How many tours can I create altogether? |
|
There is no limit on how many tours you can create. So long as you have not used the total number of slides available in your membership, you can create more tours or add slides to existing tours.
With a Free Membership you can have a total of 10 slides. With a Paid Membership you choose how many slides you want to purchase. The number of slides in your membership is a total for all your tours, not for each tour. For example, if you buy 50 slides you could create 10 tours with 5 slides each or two tours with 25 slides each, or any other combination. |

| What happens to my tours if I forget to pay? |
|
Toward the end of your membership year, MapsAlive will display a reminder when you are logged in so that you'll know that you need to make a purchase. We will also send you email reminders when it is time to renew.
If your membership runs out altogether, your tours will become deactivated, meaning that they stay in our database, but you cannot edit them. Anyone visiting those tours will see a message that the tour is not active. You can reactivate your tours instantly by making a purchase.
If you never make another purchase, your tours will eventually be removed from our database. |

| What am I paying for when I use MapsAlive? |
|
You are paying to use the MapsAlive application to create, edit, and publish interactive map tours. The MapsAlive application lets you easily upload map images and photos, add text descriptions, add markers to maps and build complete interactive tours without any programming. MapsAlive automatically generates a set of HTML, JavaScript, Flash, and other web files for each of your tours so that a programmer does not have to write them by hand.
A Free Membership lets you use the application to create tours with a total of 10 slides. A Paid Membership is much more flexible because it lets you purchase any number of slides and gives you access to features like Download.
In addition, MapsAlive hosts your tour files on mapsalive.com. When you make changes to a tour — for example, to fix a typo or replace a photo — you rebuild and publish the tour and the updates appear on the web instantly. There are no extra steps required to upload your changes to your server — they take effect on mapsalive.com immediately.
You are paying for the use of the MapsAlive application and for the convenience of having your tours (and changes you make to them) hosted on mapsalive.com automatically. |

| How does MapsAlive save me money? |
|
| MapsAlive is a web-based technology that allows both technical and non-technical people to create interactive online tours. Prior to MapsAlive, tours like these could only be produced by experienced web developers at great expense. With MapsAlive you now have the option of creating tours yourself, having non-technical staff create them, or having your web team create them more quickly and less expensively than if they had to program them in traditional ways. In addition, editing and maintaining your interactive tours is fast and easy and does not require any programming so you don't need to call back your web developer every time you want to make a change. In short, using MapsAlive costs a lot less than creating interactive tours any other way. |

| Do I have to keep paying to use tours I create with MapsAlive? |
|
No. With a Paid Membership you can download tours at any time and host them on your own web server. They'll continue to work even if you let your MapsAlive membership expire.
Downloaded tours are read-only and cannot be edited. Your membership must remain active to access your tours for editing. |

| Do I pay when people visit my tours? |
|
No. You are not charged for visits, clicks, or anything like that.

| Are there any other costs? |
|
| No. There are no setup fees or monthly subscription costs. The prices shown allow you to create and edit tours and have them hosted on MapsAlive.com. With a Paid Membership you can also download your tours for free. |

| Can I use my tours after my membership expires? |
|
| Yes, with a Paid Membership you can download tours and host them on your own web server. You must download your tours while your membership is active. |

| How do I purchase more slides? |
|
You can purchase additional slides at any time. If you have a Free Membership your first purchase must be at least $39 and include 25 or more slides. If you already have a Paid Membership you can purchase any number of slides. We will pro-rate (reduce) the cost of additional slides based on the time remaining in your Paid Membership.
To purchase additional slides, follow these steps:
- Click My Account from any page (you must be logged in).
This step takes you to the Account Status page.
- Click Buy Slides in the left menu.
This step takes you to the Shopping Cart page.
- Type the number of slides that you want to purchase.
- Optionally, type the number of additional users you want.
- Click Update Price
This step updates your Order Total.
- Click Checkout.
This step takes you to our secure Buy page where you can provide your credit card information. |

| Is there a minimum purchase? |
|
| There is an initial mimimum purchase of $39 for 25 slides. There is no minimum for subsequent purchases. |
